WalleK MCP — Documentation

WalleK is a personal-finance bookkeeping connector. It lets Claude read and record the user’s own financial data — expenses, bills, loans, salary, net worth, budgets, credit-card statements and inflation indicators. It is record-only: it never moves money, crypto, or executes financial transactions.

1. Connect (setup)

In Claude (claude.ai → Settings → Connectors, or Claude Code), choose Add custom connector.
Enter the server URL: https://wallek.app/mcp (leave client ID / secret blank — the server supports Dynamic Client Registration).
Click Connect. You’ll be sent to wallek.app to sign in with your WalleK account (OAuth 2.1 + PKCE). Approve access.
Done — Claude can now read your data and propose entries. Open the WalleK app to link the connection to your device if prompted.

Test account for reviewers: mcpdemo@wallek.app (password in the submission’s Test Data section). It contains sample data and is safe to read/modify.

2. Safety model

Every AI write does not change the books directly. It lands as a PENDING entry in an in-app inbox that the user must Approve / Reject / Edit before it is applied. Nothing is written without explicit user consent.

No money movement. Tools named create_transfer / investment records only create ledger entries (a bookkeeping record); no funds, crypto, or assets are ever moved.
Per-user isolation. Each OAuth token is bound to one user; the server only ever touches that user’s own data.
Disconnect = revoke. Removing the connector revokes the token; the AI can no longer access the data.

4. Troubleshooting

The connector won’t connect

Make sure the URL is exactly https://wallek.app/mcp (HTTPS). The server uses OAuth 2.1 + PKCE + Dynamic Client Registration, so no manual client ID/secret is needed.

"No connected user" when calling a tool

The OAuth sign-in didn’t finish, or the connection isn’t linked to a device yet. Re-connect, complete the sign-in on wallek.app, and open the WalleK app once.

I asked Claude to add an expense but nothing changed in the app

By design — the entry is waiting in the app’s inbox for your Approve / Reject / Edit. Check get_inbox_status or the in-app inbox.

Wrong vendor / category on a suggestion

Correct it once in the app; the correction is learned (teach_alias) and applied automatically next time.
